Founded by Marica and Maurizia, friends by chance, sisters by choice, MARIMAU is the culmination of our lifelong dream to work together.
Since we met at school as teenagers, it was friendship at first sight, one of those that, despite all the challenges that life throws at it, is destined to last forever. Our different personalities and aspirations led us to undertake different professional paths, far from each other.
Over these 35 years, Marica became a TV journalist in Rome first, and then a full-time mom in Miami. Maurizia worked as the head of the commercial department at Puglia airports, but the desire to bridge the gap and bring our dream to life never wavered.
We nurtured it with lots of love and passion, and then destiny did the rest.
After thousands of calls, messages, emails, and overseas trips, we finally launched our own brand MARIMAU, the combination of our names. A colorful and unique collection of handmade beach towels and accessories, meticulously designed by us and crafted by skilled local artisans in Puglia, the captivating region located in Southern Italy known all over the world for its stunning beaches and much more.
Each piece is carefully handmade with attention to detail using the finest materials such as 100% cotton and 100% linen to ensure the highest quality and craftsmanship. Any small imperfection is the result of the manual skill and craftsmanship of our suppliers who work with care and dedication to create our collections. Each pattern and color combination is curated to reflect the beauty and serenity of coastal living.
